7:35 Update on Telegraph Road Widening / Anacapa Middle School Safe Routes to School Project
On May 6 the City Council approved a $2.1 million contract with a local construction company for improvements to Telegraph Road between Mills Road and Ashwood Avenue. Narrowed sections of Telegraph will be widened, a new traffic signal installed at College Drive, pedestrian safety measures will be added at Glen Ellen Drive, and other improvements will be installed.

7:45 Consider support for proposed City Tobacco Licensing ordinance
Learn about a proposed City ordinance to regulate tobacco sales including e-cigarettes and vaping products. Several CACC members have requested a formal vote of the Community Council in support of the ordinance.

8:00 Discuss potential construction of new affordable senior housing in College Area
At least two developers are interested in building new housing in the College Area for senior citizens. These will be independent living apartments rather than assisted living. Community concerns, support, comments are welcomed.

8:10 AGeneral Plan Update and verification of 1999 Vision Plan for the College Area
A discussion of the upcoming City General Plan Update, including a review of the 1999 Ventura Vision Plan, will be led by CACC Secretary Kathy Bremer. Learn how the General Plan affects development in the community, services and programs for residents, and the long term direction of the City.
